CAPIC Licensing & Fees Survey 2026 📊 How much a CAPIC Licensing & Fees Survey 2026 📊
How much are image creators charging in Canada today?

Our latest Licensing & Fees Survey looks at day rates, usage fees and licensing practices across the industry, with comparisons to 2019.

The results reveal some interesting trends: while certain rates have increased, others have remained unchanged or declined, despite rising costs.

💡These findings reflect responses from participating image creators and serve as industry benchmarks, not recommended rates.

The full report is available to CAPIC members through the Member Portal at capic.org

Thank you to everyone who contributed! We hope for broader participation in our next survey 💙

Celebrating Our Roots on World Photography Day 📷✨

Long before digital sensors, studio flash units, or modern editing software, pioneers across Canada were laying the groundwork for our industry.

Today, we’re looking back at three legendary Canadian image creators who built this craft from coast to coast:

🏛️ William Notman (Montreal, QC)
🌊 Wallace R. MacAskill (Halifax, NS)
❄️ Geraldine Moodie (Western & Northern Canada)

Their dedication to the medium paved the way for professional standards, commercial artistry, and community that CAPIC members carry forward today.

Thank you for being part of this ongoing story!
